A vision for the future of general practice
The UK Medical Associations Team welcomed over 1200 GPs at last week’s RCGP virtual event

Over 1200 general practitioners joined the RCGP and Haymarket’s Medical Associations Team at the high-profile virtual event on 27 October, for a virtual day filled with debate and provocative discussions around the future of general practice.
At a time where the UK healthcare system has been described as ‘gridlocked’ by the Care Quality Commission, the conference gathered over 50 eminent medical speakers, discussing how GPs can provide the highest standards of patient care.
The one day event was delivered on our preferred virtual platform which had really strong event branding and enabled excellent interaction and engagement for delegates with real time chat functionality and Q&A. Delegates were also able to network and meet representatives from the sponsoring organisations and view the latest RCGP membership offers.
A wide variety of sessions focussed on the patient experience, how to support and retain GPs in the profession, and how to broaden diversity and inclusion – with particular attention to addressing the needs of the queer community. The focus then shifted to influencing policy and delving into the specific challenges of the four UK nations. Finally, greener practices took centre stage with a powerful closing keynote.
Our expert commercial and operations teams partnered with the RCGP’s in-house content and marketing teams to deliver a virtual event and experience with no par. All RCGP members were able to join for free and the recordings are available to watch until January 2023.
The event also served as a high-profile launch platform for the RCGP Annual Conference and Exhibition – taking place in Glasgow on 19-20 October 2023, which Haymarket is delivering on behalf of the RCGP. After a break, it was very important to remind our audiences of their annual date for the in-person event. There was no better way to do that than giving them a free-to-attend virtual taste of the high-quality content and experience they can experience. Watch the 2023 conference teaser here.
