BSME Cover of the Month
Wonderly publishes Lifestyle magazine, Motability’s customer title

We are pleased to announce that Lifestyle magazine has won the British Society of Magazine Editors (BSME) Cover of the Month – February 2023.
The inspiring, positive and uplifting cover shows golden labrador retriever Ocho, who is the definition of a superhero – he uses his powers to help his owner Chloë, is dedicated to protecting her and comes to her rescue everyday.
“When it came to selecting the cover image, a heroic side profile of Ocho was key,” says Sophie-Marie Odum, Wonderly’s Editor of Lifestyle. “The strong picture, and the emotive and extraordinary story behind it is what, we believe, won us the public vote.”
To enter the competition, magazines post a picture of their front cover on Instagram, tag @_bsme and use the hashtag #BSMECoverOfTheMonth. Then, the general public gets to vote for their favourite. It was tough competition as Lifestyle magazine was up against other big titles such as ‘Empire’, ‘Saga magazine’ and ‘The New Statesman’.

Lifestyle magazine is Motability’s customer title, published by Wonderly. It is distributed to over 640,000 customers and caters for a specific audience with a wide range of disabilities. There are many disabilities and impairments that the editorial team must consider when putting together each issue. The magazine celebrates what readers can do, rather than focusing on what they can’t. This has won Lifestyle massive audience engagement.
