Lifestyle magazine has won ‘Cover of the Year, Silver Award’ at the 2023 Professional Publishers Association (PPA) Awards as it impressed judges and the public.

The inspiring, positive and uplifting cover shows golden labrador retriever Ocho, who is the definition of a superhero – he uses his powers to help his owner Chloë  and is dedicated to protecting her. He comes to her rescue everyday like a true superhero.

Judges said: “This cover carefully considers its audience, is accessible to its readers and has driven engagement across the brand.” Lifestyle entered the PPA awards’ ‘Cover of the Year’ category earlier this year and judges shortlisted the entry, meaning the cover was open to a public vote. It was a tough category – we were competing with household name titles such as Radio Times, Country Life, Harper’s Bazaar and Top Gear.

“When it came to selecting the cover image, a heroic side profile of Ocho was key,” says Sophie-Marie Odum, Wonderly’s Editor of Lifestyle. “The strong picture, and the emotive coverlines, explaining the extraordinary story behind the image is what, we believe, won us the public vote. This is a massive achievement for the whole team. Thank you to Chloe and Ocho for sharing their story.”

Gail Rossiter, Motability, the Charity’s Senior Press and PR Manager, adds: “We are thrilled to win Silver in Cover of the Year. It’s fantastic that Lifestyle has done so well in a reader-voted category, proving its importance to our customers. Thank you for the votes.”
