It’s a wrap! We have released all seven episodes of The Lifestyle Motability Pod (plus a trailer).
The first episode launched on Monday 31 July 2023, and each episode was released every two weeks, on a Monday. All these episodes can be found on Spotify, Apple music, and YouTube.
Broadcaster and disability rights campaigner Samantha Renke, Lifestyle magazine editor Sophie-Marie Odum and our car expert and Lifestyle Drive editor Matt Lizzimore brought to life this podcast with their expertise, sense of humour, and by interviewing brilliant guests who shed some light on diverse themes.
Our guests were a mix of people from the disabled community and high-profile people such as comedian and model Fats Timbo, who has 2.9 million fans on Tik Tok and Mark Omrod, former royal commands marines commando.
Several topics were covered such as: dating with a disability, remaining positive through adversity, accessible electric vehicle charging for all, etc.
And it wouldn’t be a Motability Podcast without car chat from Matt,who discussed everything we need to know about cars and must-have gadgets.In line with Lifestyle magazine there was also a section highlighting positive news in the disability community.
We worked with Redbee and Rethink Audio to deliver a high quality and accessible podcast, and we are proud to say that we have met our commitment of producing full length episodes with captions and British Sign Language (BSL).
We have received positive industry and audience feedback. Matt Hill, founder of British Podcast Awards said: “’Being the first to provide a regular, signed podcast is a real point of difference in a busy marketplace – and the overwhelmingly positive feedback from listeners suggests it is necessary. Now the challenge is to move from we have a great, original podcast to communicating why each new episode matters.”
One of our listeners Ross Lannon said: “It’s about time we had some disability representation on the mic, and it’s so great to see Motability branching out with this new project. Sam and Sophie provide the perfect balance of information and entertainment. With audio, video, transcript, subtitles and a BSL interpreter, this Pod is already proving to be an inclusive space for all.”
